Historical Event: Solar Eclipse of October 1492

10 10 2012

As the caravels silently sailed around and past the islands in the Caribbean a solar eclipse took place. In the Iberian peninsula, Sagittarius was rising. The sign of distant voyages, with Neptune planet of illusions and mystical experiences, the planet of paradise. The eclipse itself in the 11th house of fulfillment of dreams and joint ventures with like minded people.

Image

This is a north node eclipse in Scorpio with Pluto conjunct with a three degree orb almost exactly on the dragon’s head. After arriving in San Salvador the adventurers made their way to Cuba and landed there on the 28th of October.

“These people have no religious beliefs, nor are they idolaters. They are very gentle and do not know what evil is; nor do they kill others, nor steal; and they are without weapons.”.

The people he met were innocent. Though in a historical perspective empires are founded in blood and the American continent had several empires before this date already.Image

On one side of the exact eclipse light and on the other, darkness. The exact eclipse took place at day break with the Sun rising on the Ascendant in Panama and Cuba. Just in the darkness the eclipse was in the 1st house bringing with it the physical changes and physical presence associated with the body of the 1st house. On the bright side it was already light and as such the eclipse pierced through the early daylight of the 12th house bringing with it the greatest spiritual change.

A Plutonic Solar Eclipse is not a completely rare thing, it happens from time to time. But in Scorpio one might say it is relatively rare because Pluto isn’t in Scorpio that often (twelve years every 236). The eclipse of 1492 did not just lead to the formation of the United States (which is something to celebrate) but it also created new races.

For those who quibble as to whether Pluto is a “real planet” or not, or whether indeed Pluto has any power in tropical Scorpio, one only has to take a look at the Solar Eclipse of October 1492, and understand the creation not just of history at this moment but the demise and creation of new civilisations and new races.

More than 500 years have passed since this event, however, one can say that 500 years of history can be traced back to this moment in time. Something big, which was always there was revealed. Europe was revealed to the peoples of the West and America was unveiled to the peoples of the East. In the grand historical perspective the peoples of America still carry the blood which was in this continent before 1492, though North America may be predominantly new blood, the south retains its genetic inheritance.

From this chart one can conclude that Pluto really has a bearing on evolution and on being able to see what lies behind and beyond. It is to sexy Scorpio that the 39 sailors who decided to stay with the Guacanagari can be thankful. They must have felt that they had stumbled upon paradise, since those people had no religion, no weapons and lived peacefully and innocently, a far cry from their homeland. And of course for a lonely sailor to discover lovely island women with innocence, why would he want to leave ever. It might not be too different from a city boy who moves to the country and discovers some honest country girl with no pretensions. The only difference being that the cultures are a bit more separated by distance and time. Many will always castigate this landing and paint it as a rape of that innocence. However, one might speculate what those lovely island girls thought of the urban civilised chaps in white shirts and hats, perhaps they were impressed too. New races are not born out of hatred, along the way there must be some feelings.

Comombus’ observations about the people he met on the first voyage show him to have been highly aware and sensitive to what innocence and gentleness is in order to appreciate that in those people who received him. In order to perceive it in those people, it must have been part of his own culture and we might further say part of all of humanity.

Who discovered who? Decide for yourself.

Jupiter Gemini

27 05 2012

Jupiter has much to do with Capitalism and banking. Democratic capitalism is a system of expansion of wealth and of opportunity which are keywords for Jupiter. Additionally the idea of capitalism is based entirely on risk, on taking chances and making projections of profit in the future. It goes without saying then that the way the West is structured is largely ruled by jupiter. This is evident in the chart of the USA, the leader of the democratic and venture capitalist system; a country with has Sun conjunct an exalted Jupiter. the prognostication for expansion during this period then is weak.

In the light of these observations, a Gemini Jupiter is therefore not helpful for the expansive, and gambling system of government. One may make the observation that the great depression began during a Jupiter in Gemini year. Whatever the actual cause, in Gemini the planet of gambling runs out of luck. Or rather the luck that Jupiter signifies in any sign goes into words and into intellectual efforts. A number of famous writers have this placement.

It seems that this placement is favourable for making distinctions based on detailed observations. The suffering here arises though an alienation with the higher consciousness, or God. Humanity may be sacrificed, expansion is sacrificed and the purpose of life becomes utilitarian. If Jupiter in Sagittarius has faith in humanity, faith that a higher power is at work in the human race, then in Gemini, humanity is seen as something of an animal which can be chopped up.

Writers such as Charles Dickens, Aldous Huxley and Arthur Conan Dolye have Jupiter in Gemini, as well as Schopenhauer. The writers with this placement all demonstrate an inherent lack of faith in man as a morally superior being, rather denegrating him to the level of an animal. Dickens although counted one of the greatest writers, observed humanity in gritty “realistic” terms, where life was truly a miserable struggle for survival. All Dickens’ characters come to discover a harsh Darwinian reality underpinning life, and many of them are “self-made”, often at price of the death of those around them. No God exists in these stories, just man and the structures which he creates. Naturally these novels were novels about social problems, and observed people as human animals. Huxley likewise came to great disappointment with humanity, and his novels demonstrate a disillusion with human society, viewing the details of life without any real knowledge of the divinity within the human experience. Brave New World although a satire still depicts a world, a humanity which has been stripped of all divine experience and reduced to its physical mechanistic existence. Huxley’s characters suffer, like Dickens’ without god, and without faith that things could ever improve. Their basic observations were that human existence was just a mechanism, and that all unhappiness in our meagre existence could possibly be fixed using physical means such as organising humanity differently.

Naturally when speaking about Jupiter faith becomes the most important thing. It signifies faith not just in God, but in man too and in the benevolence of the universe at large. Jupiter is concerned with morality, which goes far beyond small details of what the lower mind observes and sees. Wilkins Micawber says that “I have no doubt I shall, please Heaven, begin to be more beforehand with the world, and to live in a perfectly new manner, if -if, in short, anything turns up. – (Chapter 11 David Copperfield)” For Micawber of course, nothing does turn up most of the time and in fact his creditors turn up and take him to prison. Faith doesn’t work in Gemini. You need to make sense of the immediate world around you, balance the books and live in peace with other people around, not to owe anything and not to be in debt.

Opportunities for this placement are to be able to observe. To observe and to make distinctions between different categories, to work with logic, and to observe mechanism in all its forms.  The dangers with this are that too much emphasis on observation and on distinction can lead to intolerance or even of sacrficing humanity.

Pisces Neptune Experiences

5 02 2012

The world is the same as it was yesterday, in the sense that it carries on without much notice of human life. But to us humans, after living for 14 years in an Aquarius Neptune era, and perceiving and living life according to all Aquarian ideals, Neptune going into Pisces will make us think and feel it is a new and very different world.

During those last 14 years I have lived inspired by Aquarius Neptune. One thing stands out about this life. It has been a life aloof and standing back from life. In Aquarius I have been studying life from a distance without really joining in. I have been reading about a dead and buried ancient civilization, but without being a true part of that civilization, or my own. During those years I have felt alone many times despite having friends. I have rationalized and understood life in terms of a system, which i have compared to many other systems whether they were astrological, or political, philosophical, or about the theory of teaching. But where was I? Who was I? I was of no emotion and of no particular party. I was impartial, but i was far away. I tried love, but I was too cerebral about it and it didn’t work for that reason.

Now I feel different. I had an experience that no words can describe. I might as well write poetry in this space here. Pisces has much beauty, and love and kindness in it. It also has temptation and sin. But, so long as I remain morally upright, no suffering will come to me. I must put my total faith in God now. The experience that I now have is not a mental experience. It is a vibration which resonates throughout my entire body, it is a powerful feeling. Words fail me, they just won’t come, they don’t help and they don’t work. ALL of life is feeling. But the highest form of feeling comes from love, which in its true meaning is SACRIFICE. This is the reason Venus, planet of love is exalted in Pisces. If you love one person you sacrifice personal ambition and pleasure and you give them your time and money, that is sacrifice and that is love. When Christ died on the cross that was sacrifice of his own self for all of us. But sacrifice is beautiful. We do not have to die physically. All that must die is personal ego, the egos of lust, anger, fear, and possibly many other egos which we are not aware of.

When Neptune first entered Aquarius in 1997, I became intrigued by Astrology, a system which allowed me to study human life and functions without actually living or experiencing them in any kind of personal or subjective level.

Today in 2012 with Pisces Neptune I became aware of the infinite to which I am connected to, to sacrifice and to true love which is based on nothing more than pure sacrifice. This kind of love comes close to the infinite. It is a feeling of total belonging. This higher dimension is not reached through thought, and through intellectual understanding. This is why I have been praying and meditating. This is the reason I have been ridding myself of excessive possessions, of clutter in my house and clutter in my mind.

There is a choice. In Pisces there is a choice. You may give your all to one person and to one God, and find bliss and happiness in doing this. Or you may pursue your desires, indulge your senses, lust, and anger, and by doing so bring about your own losses and suffering. God has one life planned for us from our birth, this life would be paradise if we did  not follow our animal desires. I pray to God to show me the path, to keep my heart clean, to make sure that I never want what God has not planned for me. I pray that the love that I have found never diminishes.

Neptune the spilt drink

4 12 2011

The orb of Neptune is 25 degrees applying or separating from any aspect. The fact is that this planet colours the entire chart from any point. Although it is invisible to the naked eye, but like a spilt drink it reaches out across the signs and wets everything around it. Naturally the orb at which a planet has effect by transit and progression is no different from one planet to another, so exacting astrologers will give an orb of two-three degrees for the transit and one degree for the Solar Arc.

Having established a link between Neptune and Pisces it is no surprise that this planet acts on the emotions and on the feeling nature of man. The primary way that it does this is to raise expectations, and thereby distorting the “truth” of a situation or house. Neptune has domain over all forms of romance or romanticism. “Great expectations” are always followed by disappointment. Poetry and stories of course, are not real, so when you go to touch it and try to hold on to it, it disappears, whatever beauty and greatness that it presented, whatever glamour it gave off will leave you shivering and cold and in a dark room all alone with no comfort.

Traditional astrology holds that Saturn and Mars are the malefics which cause the greatest deal of suffering. While this is true, and the anguish which the two traditional evils of the Solar system cause pain physically, Neptune is solely responsible for that pain which gnaws at the psyche causing deep unhappiness and dissatisfaction. With Saturn it is always clear the reason for the misery, whether it be fear and inadequacy, dumbness, stupidity, with Mars the anger shows up and there is no mistaking it. Neptune though doesn’t let you know why. Neptune like the spilt drink will not let you see the table beneath clearly. “Why are you unhappy? I don’t know.”

Going into the psychology of Neptune one begins to realise that unhappiness is always causal. Downs are always consequence of ups. What was the high in the first place? The high was a detachment from the day to day reality of life. Fantasy. The mind, when Neptune is influencing is taken in very easily with its own creation.  We never realise it at the time.

A peculiarity of Neptune is that this planet has very high winds, of up to 1,000 miles per hour. There are wispy clouds on Neptune, but they move so fast that what you are actually seeing may have taken place some time ago. Neptune’s wind is so fast it beggars belief, winds that move faster than the speed of sound? The idea of Neptune as some kind of passive and tranquil lake is laughable. The slowest planet to travel around the Sun very strangely has the fastest moving elements on its surface.

The deepest form of Neptunian disappointment is being in love with something that has no physical reality on Earth. In the 5th house for example Love is coloured up, and coloured in. All of it is illusion, self created illusion. When Neptune acts on the faculties in this house it is the artist, dreaming of his muse non-stop. But the trouble is that of course, the artist will never, never be satisfied, because he will never be able to touch that mental creation, she doesn’t exist, not the way he sees her.

Neptune working in the 6th house has the same effect at work. The subject of the dirty Neptune deception will think that they love their job, when in reality it’s not that great. They might project a romantic persona among their colleagues, therefore deceiving them, or being deceived by them. But the reality is that all illusions are a departure from reality and the more you dream about it and romanticise it the greater the eventual misery that it will cause.

The Aquarian Sun

17 10 2011

The Age of Aquarius

Some say that the Aquarian Age began on the 4th February 1962. Indeed on this day there were no less that 7 planets in the sign of Aquarius including a Solar Eclipse. This is noteworthy, although there are occasionally amazing stelliums in other signs, for example the one that came in March-April 2011. Whatever the actual date of the beginning of the new age, it is clear that there are some very deep changes which go beneath what is superficial. In the material plane everyone can see that the Aquarian Age is marked by an increase in the number of human beings on the planet, the increase in the amount of technology, and science, and what appears also to be intermittent and sudden changes such as revolutions, catastrophic wars, holocausts, earthquakes, tsunamis etc. All the history of the 20th century is easily understood by looking at the sign of Aquarius. Communism, although linked to the cycles of Neptune is in line with the spirit of Aquarius which says that all are equal in the eyes of God.

Past Ages

It is difficult to say what the future age will bring. One thing is a constant though, and that is the nature of humanity and the nature of the human species. We are capable of the greatest dignity and happiness, and we are also capable of degeneration and degradation. In the Age of Pisces the world was filled with Saints, and mystics, musicians, poets, great artistic masters, but also plagues, and tyrannical kings. In the Age of Aries going further back we know that people prized fighting, the Greek civilisation was of the nature of Aries. It is interesting and slightly disturbing to note that our past civilisation only goes back two or three ages. What came before this? What is humanity without civilisation? According to the Aquarian paradigm itself, we are in fact animals. These are questions for which the answers are circumstantial considering that the past is gone.

The Ego

In the coming Age, the Ego is not going to last. By ego, what is meant is the identification of the self with the sensations of the five senses, of the body, of the mind, of the emotion. The purest consciousness does not identify with the physical sensation of existence. Naturally just as in the Age of Pisces there will be saints and sinners, those who understand the energy of the new age, and those who don’t. Those who understand Aquarius will detach themselves from their physical life. But there must be a word of warning also, Aquarius is not ruled by Mercury, Aquarius is not pure reason as some might argue, Aquarius is not an Age of total rationalism either as some might like to have us believe. It is ruled by the planet Saturn which inclines towards making mistakes, more so than Jupiter. The logic of Saturn is not reasonable and clever like Mercury, it is the logic of experience, and of learning out of suffering and pain. The holocaust and the Atomic bomb are the great mistakes of this current Age, and the coming Nuclear Holocaust and Holocaust of Global Warming will surely propel us into this new Age. Saturn is unkind to its children, this is a well known fact from ancient myth. Saturn is “the reaper” in Medieval astrology, more so than Mars. In the Age of Aquarius we can expect world government, which will be brought about following one or more of the coming catastrophes.

The world has a lot of Ego. Saturn in Aquarius will cull it. All of the lust of the world will be destroyed, by itself largely. The process that works itself in the ego of an individual man in order to find higher consciousness is the same which works in the world. The spiritual existence of Man will continue throughout Aquarius. Those who throw out religions and reject spiritual truth which is not just “Piscean” but rather belongs to all ages will suffer the consequences. The book of Revelation and Christ indicated that in the future Age there would be cataclysm and that the love of most would grow cold. However, those who stay true to the central message of Christ will not be burned in the fire. Those who stay true to the dignity and divine nature of mankind, and understand the sacred nature which is within will be instructed and will find spiritual truth according to the method of Aquarius. This may be scientific, but it will rely heavily on truth which has not changed since the birth of humanity. And since Saturn is the “father” planet, it will be seen that our spiritual knowledge is not “new” but rather received from the most ancient sources.

Consciousness

Consciousness cannot be developed without ego sacrifice. Consciousness is the keynote of Aquarius. Consciousness is not the vigil state. Consciousness is clarity of vision without analysis, without thought, without feeling. The spiritual truths of past ages are eternal because humanity is eternal, it is constant because we are constant. What will change though will be that people will be able to come to spiritual truth more easily. New religion and philosophy will and is emerging already, it may be synthetic and it may be free from superstition but essentially there is truth, spiritual truth which the dignified will always find.

The use of Astrology in order to understand the ego is there only in so much as it is an aid in destroying it. Where we have lust, that lust must be understood and then destroyed in order for the person to come to consciousness. Where there is self-pity or other unhappiness caused by loss or lack of fulfilment, that depression is another Ego of the self, it must be understood and destroyed.

All manifestations in the physical plane are product of internal thought. We must become mindful and watch each individual thought and feeling which arises in the mind, which at this moment in time only serves the ego or the self.

Neptune Square/Opposite Sun

10 10 2011

Going through a transit and living it from day to day for four entire years is surely the very best way to understand it, you get first hand knowledge of the significance of a planet, a sign and a particular astral energy.

The Sun is the vitality, the joy, the happiness the reason we’re all here, on this earth. The Sun is not the body, that signification belongs to the 1st house. But, the Sun in itself is the essence of life, the soul even. The Sun as the heart of the system shines its light on all other planets and houses, it is the capital city, the seat of government, the head of state, it’s the leader, hence the association of the Sun with royalty, with presidency.

The particular effect of the hard aspect of Neptune on an affective level was a feeling of listlessness. The situation pertaining to life is seen as hopeless, without reason, without purpose, without direction, without escape, even though the mind is able to conjure up and imagine being elsewhere with amazing vividness.

The Sun is not the ego. It is the true self, it is in essence, giving of yourself to others, shining the light around you. On some days the true self will say things like “I am nothing”, it is the idea of being worthless or even invisible. If you feel as if you have no purpose, then it is easy to think this way. If your life is purposeless on the other hand it’s just as easy to give of yourself and serve others without hope of recompense. If the Sun is excessively egotistical, and the spiritual lessons have not been learnt, then the feeling of purposelessness obviously can drive the person to other forms of irrational action, self-indulgence, and self-pity being two of the big contenders. Sometimes the listlessness and hopelessness is so great that the person considers total and absolute escape.

“I am unhappy right now, I can’t deal with this”, is another favourite phrase of this combination. There is a great deal of disappointment. Anyone born with the Neptune Sun in hard aspect must eventually find a way to give life meaning and overcome the emptiness of the SOUL. Serving others and being kind to others without hope for material gain is the very best way to deal with this aspect. The higher purpose in life is to serve others, this is the great lesson from Neptune.

Providing a real service to others, which contributes to their well-being is the real need of Neptune. The thoughts must eventually become: “How can I eventually put a smile on your face and make you happy?” Naturally to do something for money is anathema to Neptune, because it sees right through the illusion of money. The rock-star or film star that makes vast sums of money, but under the rays of Neptune realises that he or she is nothing more than a leech and has not actually contributed to anyone’s happiness is the saddest manifestation of Neptune REALISATION. The soul’s purpose and journey is painful when this happens. So the biggest way that Neptune makes its contribution is without great fame. Neptune knows when it’s giving itself without wanting anything in return. People always need help, encouragement, someone to talk to, people always need a friendly face or voice, so it doesn’t matter which occupation you are in. To live for others, to cry for others out of pure compassion, to release all concept of self or ego, which says “I want”, this is the greatest test for Neptune Sun. The idea is not to do it for the pay check at the end of the month, the idea is to do it, because your purpose and meaning in life only through others.

Those who must go through the transit or progression or those who live it perpetually would do well to understand that life’s meaning can be found in the religion of compassion. Ask yourself “How can I put a smile on that person’s face?” You don’t have to make jokes, or give money, giving of yourself so that that person finds success by themselves is enough. Many people don’t know how to be charitable, it’s not easy, which is why some take out their small change and give it to the homeless. This is one way, and it’s fine, and it can be a beautiful feeling when you do this, but just serving on a daily basis can be enough, especially if you work with people, with the public, those people have the greatest opportunity to give to others.

Jupiter Taurus

4 10 2011

Traits of Jupiter in Taurus

Taurus is possibly the most cautious of all signs, the most realistic too. It’s also a sign which is able to enjoy sensual pleasure more than any other, because the sense of touch is heightened. Jupiter in Taurus in reality has no dignity, since Taurus is ruled both by Venus and Moon, both by domicile, triplicity and exaltation. The nature of Jupiter is enthusiasm, faith, expansion and long distance travelling, the nature of Taurus is staying in one place all through existence and watching the trees grow, and waiting for the good fruit to be ready. Jupiter in essence has little patience for Taurus caution, and patience and so is unhappy in this sign, generally speaking. Taurus Jupiter is the fine artist who paints quickly, literally throwing the paint onto the canvas, because it’s fun, the fine artist who maybe has got the patience, but would rather take chances on something new, the artist who paints on very large canvasses, but hasn’t got the time to focus on minute details. Taurus Jupiter has qualities which incline it towards pacifism, both sign and Planet do not appreciate violence, in fact violence is abhorrent to this placement. Having said this, it’s not to say that Taurus Jupiter is guaranteed peace, far from it, since this is peregrine Jupiter. Those with this placement though have something that they value and wish to protect, which is why they are motivated to bring about peace, financially it is fortunate, though not necessarily on ethical or moral grounds either, since banks do have ethics by nature.

Some people with Taurus Jupiter prominent include: Pablo Picasso, F.D. Roosevelt, Howard Hughs, Virginia Woolf, David Icke, Vladimir Lenin

.

Jupiter ruler of capitalism

Jupiter of itself has power over democracy and the capitalist system and it is easy to see that when Jupiter is doing well, western capitalism is also doing well, generally speaking. With the entrance of Sun into Sagittarius each year, western nations which celebrate the PAGAN festival of Christmas symbolised by a big fat man (Santa) who brings presents and puts them under a tree (Capricorn). Typically during the Capricorn phase trade dries up because all the money is spent during the preceding Sagittarius period, and Capricorn indeed requires total cutbacks and a sense of contraction in order to begin again, hence the January sales.

The forecast for 2011-2012

Jupiter goes direct in January, which will be a boon to the banks and to solid investments, because these are said to be Taurus institutions. Those who invested in “safe” investments such as gold, etc. should sell what they have during this period so as  to make a profit. The Taurus Jupiter period, which lasts until June 2012 provides some degree of financial stability in a system which is under the influence of altogether different and possibly more powerful and deep seated changes. If there was a time when capitalism dried up, it would be during Jupiter in Gemini, the detriment of this sign, and indeed if you look back to the financial crash of 1929, this placement was in effect. Gemini is of course all talk and no substance, Gemini has no faith, it relies on hard facts, and capitalism of the west is entirely driven by optimism and faith, gambling, which as stated above belong to Jupiter’s natural home, Sagittarius and Pisces. Interestingly right now is a great time for the artistic world with Jupiter in a sign which is slow and tedious and is able to create great masterpieces of not just painting, but sculpture too, since Taurus is a very physical sign. During this period, until June 2012, the banks will expand and financial services will have a certain amount of luck. The only problem with the direct station of Jupiter in January is that it is partile opposition to a Libra Saturn, since both these planets are in domicile of Venus and Venus is in Aquarius at this time, Saturn takes precedence. The financial expansion from the word go will be opposed, and the luck which the stock market has will be kept in check.

When you say I

3 10 2011

When you say “I”, what do you mean by that? Do you mean your body, do you mean your hands, or your eyes, or your mouth? Is that really you? When you say I do you mean your feelings, your emotions, from happiness to anger to depression and sadness, back to happiness and joy? When you say “I love you”, what is it exactly that you love me with? Do you mean your body and your hormones and your feelings? Which ones and in what proportion to each other?

What part of the I is everlasting? What part of the I continues into the next life? What part of the I never dies?

In the next life, when you and I are both dead, will we be able to find each other? How will you recognise me in that life and how will I know it’s you? When we are both reborn and remember nothing of the past life and remember nothing of our “real” selves? Perhaps it’s the eyes that give it away? Windows to the soul.

When I love you, what do I mean by you? What is it that I love? Do I love your body? Do I love your words and your voice? Do I love your past and your future hopes and wishes? Do I love your likes and dislikes?

All of these things I love but what I  love most is your love.

Stormy October 2011

24 09 2011

We can expect the Uranus Pluto square to manifest to its greatest effect so far, thanks to the 27th September 2011 New Moon at 4 degrees of Libra. This lunation doesn’t just form a T-Square with Uranus and Pluto, it’s exactly on the midpoint between the two planets, it’s 135 degrees (sesquiquadrate) to the midpoint at 18-19 degrees of Aquarius.

Uranus rules magnetism, and earthquakes, sudden reversals and changes, and Pluto is the deep, unseen force which works in darkness but has the capability to destroy and renew. Natural disasters and earthquakes are likely, as are man-made nuclear disasters. Chernobyl occurred during the Pluto-Uranus semi-square.

The month of October, following this Lunation is going to be an eventful month. Politically, and economically, we already have emergency situations at a global level. Political extremism takes precedence though only during economic turbulence. Having said all of this, the placement of Mars is helpful and it is likely to support changes.

Lunations always symbolise new beginnings, so this is a most exciting time to be living in. On a personal level if any New Moon has the ability to refresh and change your life this one does.

The 12th house

29 08 2011

Perception

The problem with most people’s perception of the 12th is that it means trouble, only if you have the wrong attitude. When things go badly, and we lose, when we lose things in our lives which are important, it’s a sorrow.

But, if you are able to let go of what is lost, then a peculiar feeling of redemption, if not even joy can happen. In the 8th house things die, but they don’t really die, they are transformed and changed into different things. The 8th is death and transformation, where even the death of a loved one can mean an inheritance and renewed life.

The 12th does not give direct renewal. It wipes clean everything. The energy in  the 12th house is not transformative, it is the energy of deep space, i.e. a very low energy, of almost absolute zero. A planet in deep space has no life, since it is simply too cold, so the product of the 12th is nothing. There is total peace, and entropy.

When the active mind of man tries to create something in the 12th, it simply doesn’t have the energy to move forward. Abandonment is the keynote of this house. When things don’t work out then, meditation is the only possible option. To refuse to accept the losses of the 12th house is to bring the pain of hell. The ego, with all of its desires and wants, gets nothing in this house. The ego in fact, which is energetic, by the law of entropy, is reduced in the 12th house. The ego here is brought down to almost absolute zero, simply by the fact that it is in empty space, and with no energy to feed it.

Suffering

Suffering is common in the 12th house when the person is not humble enough to accept loss. If the man accepted loss, as he stepped into the 12th, the fire of hell would not be upon him. The fire of hell is in fact nothing more than the disintegration of the ego. Suffering in the 12th is caused by lack of understanding and lack of respect for God. In the 12th, man is subject to God, to judgement. If he is humble and does not take more than what he is meant, then the 12th house experience is just a quiet time. If however, the man is attached to his desires, to his life too much, then the 12th house experience will incur suffering. In one sense this is karma for past selfish actions. However, karma is not external. As explained above, it is the expectation or the idea that the “I”, or the ego will be fulfilled or even should be fulfilled, that brings about the pain of disappointment. As I go into the 12th, if I am humble and I expect nothing for myself, and I get nothing, I am unharmed by the forces in this house. I was content because I hoped for nothing and I desired nothing, and nothing therefore gave me a cause for unhappiness.

The benefits of the 12th house

The 12th house in one sense streamlines the man and gives him less weight to carry. The 12th is indeed the place where you are able to rid yourself of all things which weigh you down, including your own desires and your own ego. At first it feels like suffering, to be forced into losing certain hopes, certain material things or other things which make up life.

But as the monk who comes out of the monastery after praying for countless hours, as he emerges from the darkness of the 12th, with no ego, with no mind, he opens the door of the monastery and he sees a tree for the first time in what seems an eternity, and he sees it with the eyes of a child, it’s a pure impression with no ego affecting his vision. The monk indeed sees the world through the eyes of God, because he has no ego, he has no “I” which sees the world according to its personal desires.

When everything is lost in the 12th house, we can begin to see the world again with a freshness, with the eyes of a new born child, with potential. At the beginning of the 12th house it rains a lot, it storms a lot and there is destruction one way or another. But after the rain, the air is clear and fresh, there is no dust.

ALL suffering can be avoided if humanity were able to accept loss. If we were able to see the giant invisible knife of God coming down to amputate us from the things he didn’t wish us to have. As a humanity we would be able to accept the destruction instead of trying to fight it and keep it alive at all costs.

Today I lost something important, (there was a new moon in the 12th with Venus), but I have accepted it. It is gone, and I am free. I am God’s child and I will follow the path that he instructs me on. I have no personal desire, except the desire to serve God. God’s will is good. All egos are destroyed in life or in death, and in the next life the soul will continue.
