The Aquarian Sun

The Age of Aquarius

Some say that the Aquarian Age began on the 4th February 1962. Indeed on this day there were no less that 7 planets in the sign of Aquarius including a Solar Eclipse. This is noteworthy, although there are occasionally amazing stelliums in other signs, for example the one that came in March-April 2011. Whatever the actual date of the beginning of the new age, it is clear that there are some very deep changes which go beneath what is superficial. In the material plane everyone can see that the Aquarian Age is marked by an increase in the number of human beings on the planet, the increase in the amount of technology, and science, and what appears also to be intermittent and sudden changes such as revolutions, catastrophic wars, holocausts, earthquakes, tsunamis etc. All the history of the 20th century is easily understood by looking at the sign of Aquarius. Communism, although linked to the cycles of Neptune is in line with the spirit of Aquarius which says that all are equal in the eyes of God.

Past Ages

It is difficult to say what the future age will bring. One thing is a constant though, and that is the nature of humanity and the nature of the human species. We are capable of the greatest dignity and happiness, and we are also capable of degeneration and degradation. In the Age of Pisces the world was filled with Saints, and mystics, musicians, poets, great artistic masters, but also plagues, and tyrannical kings. In the Age of Aries going further back we know that people prized fighting, the Greek civilisation was of the nature of Aries. It is interesting and slightly disturbing to note that our past civilisation only goes back two or three ages. What came before this? What is humanity without civilisation? According to the Aquarian paradigm itself, we are in fact animals. These are questions for which the answers are circumstantial considering that the past is gone.

The Ego

In the coming Age, the Ego is not going to last. By ego, what is meant is the identification of the self with the sensations of the five senses, of the body, of the mind, of the emotion. The purest consciousness does not identify with the physical sensation of existence. Naturally just as in the Age of Pisces there will be saints and sinners, those who understand the energy of the new age, and those who don’t. Those who understand Aquarius will detach themselves from their physical life. But there must be a word of warning also, Aquarius is not ruled by Mercury, Aquarius is not pure reason as some might argue, Aquarius is not an Age of total rationalism either as some might like to have us believe. It is ruled by the planet Saturn which inclines towards making mistakes, more so than Jupiter. The logic of Saturn is not reasonable and clever like Mercury, it is the logic of experience, and of learning out of suffering and pain. The holocaust and the Atomic bomb are the great mistakes of this current Age, and the coming Nuclear Holocaust and Holocaust of Global Warming will surely propel us into this new Age. Saturn is unkind to its children, this is a well known fact from ancient myth. Saturn is “the reaper” in Medieval astrology, more so than Mars. In the Age of Aquarius we can expect world government, which will be brought about following one or more of the coming catastrophes.

The world has a lot of Ego. Saturn in Aquarius will cull it. All of the lust of the world will be destroyed, by itself largely. The process that works itself in the ego of an individual man in order to find higher consciousness is the same which works in the world. The spiritual existence of Man will continue throughout Aquarius. Those who throw out religions and reject spiritual truth which is not just “Piscean” but rather belongs to all ages will suffer the consequences. The book of Revelation and Christ indicated that in the future Age there would be cataclysm and that the love of most would grow cold. However, those who stay true to the central message of Christ will not be burned in the fire. Those who stay true to the dignity and divine nature of mankind, and understand the sacred nature which is within will be instructed and will find spiritual truth according to the method of Aquarius. This may be scientific, but it will rely heavily on truth which has not changed since the birth of humanity. And since Saturn is the “father” planet, it will be seen that our spiritual knowledge is not “new” but rather received from the most ancient sources.

Consciousness

Consciousness cannot be developed without ego sacrifice. Consciousness is the keynote of Aquarius. Consciousness is not the vigil state. Consciousness is clarity of vision without analysis, without thought, without feeling. The spiritual truths of past ages are eternal because humanity is eternal, it is constant because we are constant. What will change though will be that people will be able to come to spiritual truth more easily. New religion and philosophy will and is emerging already, it may be synthetic and it may be free from superstition but essentially there is truth, spiritual truth which the dignified will always find.

The use of Astrology in order to understand the ego is there only in so much as it is an aid in destroying it. Where we have lust, that lust must be understood and then destroyed in order for the person to come to consciousness. Where there is self-pity or other unhappiness caused by loss or lack of fulfilment, that depression is another Ego of the self, it must be understood and destroyed.

All manifestations in the physical plane are product of internal thought. We must become mindful and watch each individual thought and feeling which arises in the mind, which at this moment in time only serves the ego or the self.

Neptune Square/Opposite Sun

10 10 2011

Going through a transit and living it from day to day for four entire years is surely the very best way to understand it, you get first hand knowledge of the significance of a planet, a sign and a particular astral energy.

The Sun is the vitality, the joy, the happiness the reason we’re all here, on this earth. The Sun is not the body, that signification belongs to the 1st house. But, the Sun in itself is the essence of life, the soul even. The Sun as the heart of the system shines its light on all other planets and houses, it is the capital city, the seat of government, the head of state, it’s the leader, hence the association of the Sun with royalty, with presidency.

The particular effect of the hard aspect of Neptune on an affective level was a feeling of listlessness. The situation pertaining to life is seen as hopeless, without reason, without purpose, without direction, without escape, even though the mind is able to conjure up and imagine being elsewhere with amazing vividness.

The Sun is not the ego. It is the true self, it is in essence, giving of yourself to others, shining the light around you. On some days the true self will say things like “I am nothing”, it is the idea of being worthless or even invisible. If you feel as if you have no purpose, then it is easy to think this way. If your life is purposeless on the other hand it’s just as easy to give of yourself and serve others without hope of recompense. If the Sun is excessively egotistical, and the spiritual lessons have not been learnt, then the feeling of purposelessness obviously can drive the person to other forms of irrational action, self-indulgence, and self-pity being two of the big contenders. Sometimes the listlessness and hopelessness is so great that the person considers total and absolute escape.

“I am unhappy right now, I can’t deal with this”, is another favourite phrase of this combination. There is a great deal of disappointment. Anyone born with the Neptune Sun in hard aspect must eventually find a way to give life meaning and overcome the emptiness of the SOUL. Serving others and being kind to others without hope for material gain is the very best way to deal with this aspect. The higher purpose in life is to serve others, this is the great lesson from Neptune.

Providing a real service to others, which contributes to their well-being is the real need of Neptune. The thoughts must eventually become: “How can I eventually put a smile on your face and make you happy?” Naturally to do something for money is anathema to Neptune, because it sees right through the illusion of money. The rock-star or film star that makes vast sums of money, but under the rays of Neptune realises that he or she is nothing more than a leech and has not actually contributed to anyone’s happiness is the saddest manifestation of Neptune REALISATION. The soul’s purpose and journey is painful when this happens. So the biggest way that Neptune makes its contribution is without great fame. Neptune knows when it’s giving itself without wanting anything in return. People always need help, encouragement, someone to talk to, people always need a friendly face or voice, so it doesn’t matter which occupation you are in. To live for others, to cry for others out of pure compassion, to release all concept of self or ego, which says “I want”, this is the greatest test for Neptune Sun. The idea is not to do it for the pay check at the end of the month, the idea is to do it, because your purpose and meaning in life only through others.

Those who must go through the transit or progression or those who live it perpetually would do well to understand that life’s meaning can be found in the religion of compassion. Ask yourself “How can I put a smile on that person’s face?” You don’t have to make jokes, or give money, giving of yourself so that that person finds success by themselves is enough. Many people don’t know how to be charitable, it’s not easy, which is why some take out their small change and give it to the homeless. This is one way, and it’s fine, and it can be a beautiful feeling when you do this, but just serving on a daily basis can be enough, especially if you work with people, with the public, those people have the greatest opportunity to give to others.

Jupiter Taurus

4 10 2011

Traits of Jupiter in Taurus

Taurus is possibly the most cautious of all signs, the most realistic too. It’s also a sign which is able to enjoy sensual pleasure more than any other, because the sense of touch is heightened. Jupiter in Taurus in reality has no dignity, since Taurus is ruled both by Venus and Moon, both by domicile, triplicity and exaltation. The nature of Jupiter is enthusiasm, faith, expansion and long distance travelling, the nature of Taurus is staying in one place all through existence and watching the trees grow, and waiting for the good fruit to be ready. Jupiter in essence has little patience for Taurus caution, and patience and so is unhappy in this sign, generally speaking. Taurus Jupiter is the fine artist who paints quickly, literally throwing the paint onto the canvas, because it’s fun, the fine artist who maybe has got the patience, but would rather take chances on something new, the artist who paints on very large canvasses, but hasn’t got the time to focus on minute details. Taurus Jupiter has qualities which incline it towards pacifism, both sign and Planet do not appreciate violence, in fact violence is abhorrent to this placement. Having said this, it’s not to say that Taurus Jupiter is guaranteed peace, far from it, since this is peregrine Jupiter. Those with this placement though have something that they value and wish to protect, which is why they are motivated to bring about peace, financially it is fortunate, though not necessarily on ethical or moral grounds either, since banks do have ethics by nature.

Some people with Taurus Jupiter prominent include: Pablo Picasso, F.D. Roosevelt, Howard Hughs, Virginia Woolf, David Icke, Vladimir Lenin

.

Jupiter ruler of capitalism

Jupiter of itself has power over democracy and the capitalist system and it is easy to see that when Jupiter is doing well, western capitalism is also doing well, generally speaking. With the entrance of Sun into Sagittarius each year, western nations which celebrate the PAGAN festival of Christmas symbolised by a big fat man (Santa) who brings presents and puts them under a tree (Capricorn). Typically during the Capricorn phase trade dries up because all the money is spent during the preceding Sagittarius period, and Capricorn indeed requires total cutbacks and a sense of contraction in order to begin again, hence the January sales.

The forecast for 2011-2012

Jupiter goes direct in January, which will be a boon to the banks and to solid investments, because these are said to be Taurus institutions. Those who invested in “safe” investments such as gold, etc. should sell what they have during this period so as  to make a profit. The Taurus Jupiter period, which lasts until June 2012 provides some degree of financial stability in a system which is under the influence of altogether different and possibly more powerful and deep seated changes. If there was a time when capitalism dried up, it would be during Jupiter in Gemini, the detriment of this sign, and indeed if you look back to the financial crash of 1929, this placement was in effect. Gemini is of course all talk and no substance, Gemini has no faith, it relies on hard facts, and capitalism of the west is entirely driven by optimism and faith, gambling, which as stated above belong to Jupiter’s natural home, Sagittarius and Pisces. Interestingly right now is a great time for the artistic world with Jupiter in a sign which is slow and tedious and is able to create great masterpieces of not just painting, but sculpture too, since Taurus is a very physical sign. During this period, until June 2012, the banks will expand and financial services will have a certain amount of luck. The only problem with the direct station of Jupiter in January is that it is partile opposition to a Libra Saturn, since both these planets are in domicile of Venus and Venus is in Aquarius at this time, Saturn takes precedence. The financial expansion from the word go will be opposed, and the luck which the stock market has will be kept in check.

When you say I

3 10 2011

When you say “I”, what do you mean by that? Do you mean your body, do you mean your hands, or your eyes, or your mouth? Is that really you? When you say I do you mean your feelings, your emotions, from happiness to anger to depression and sadness, back to happiness and joy? When you say “I love you”, what is it exactly that you love me with? Do you mean your body and your hormones and your feelings? Which ones and in what proportion to each other?

What part of the I is everlasting? What part of the I continues into the next life? What part of the I never dies?

In the next life, when you and I are both dead, will we be able to find each other? How will you recognise me in that life and how will I know it’s you? When we are both reborn and remember nothing of the past life and remember nothing of our “real” selves? Perhaps it’s the eyes that give it away? Windows to the soul.

When I love you, what do I mean by you? What is it that I love? Do I love your body? Do I love your words and your voice? Do I love your past and your future hopes and wishes? Do I love your likes and dislikes?

All of these things I love but what I  love most is your love.
